In 2005, the year we celebrated the centennial of the Pinacoteca, the need to make available documents for the research and construction of institutional memory led to the creation of Centro de Documentação e Memória – CEDOC (Documentation and Memory Center – CEDOC), a project supported by the Vitae Foundation, which occurred during the Marcelo Mattos Araújo administration.
The initial scope was limited to organizing and making accessible the historical archives. Starting in 2007, however, CEDOC began to house personal archives of artists, curators, art critics, and former collaborators of the institution.
In 2014, it reached an extensive collection composed of textual, iconographic and three-dimensional documents, and much of this documentation is already accessible and available for research.
